Certifications and Quality of Carla Products
Carla Chocolate has long been committed to production quality, food safety and more responsible handling of raw materials. That is why it works with standards, certifications and quality labels related to food production, the origin of selected raw materials, more sustainable supply chains, compliance with production procedures and the quality of selected products.
Fairtrade
Fairtrade is a certification focused on fairer trading conditions for farmers and workers in agricultural supply chains. For cocoa, the Fairtrade system works, among other things, with a minimum purchase price and the Fairtrade Premium, which are intended to help support more stable incomes for farmers and the development of their communities.
For customers, the Fairtrade label is a signal that the raw material comes from a system that emphasizes fairer trading relationships, more dignified working conditions and more responsible agricultural practices.
KLASA
KLASA is the Czech national food quality label awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. It was introduced in 2003 and helps consumers better navigate the food market and recognize products that meet above-standard quality criteria.
For Carla products marked with the KLASA label, this confirms the quality of a specific product within the Czech system for labelling quality foods. The label always applies to the particular awarded product, not automatically to the entire product category.
BRC Food Certified
BRC Food Certified indicates compliance with the requirements of the international BRCGS Food Safety standard, which focuses on food safety, quality, product legality and process management in food production.
For business partners and customers, this certification is a signal that the production system undergoes an independent audit and meets the requirements placed on modern food production and supply chains.
IFS Food
IFS Food is an international standard for auditing food manufacturers. It focuses on products and production processes and assesses the manufacturer’s ability to deliver safe, authentic and high-quality products in accordance with legal requirements and customer requirements.
For customers and business partners, IFS Food certification is a signal that production is subject to independent auditing and systematic management of quality, food safety, traceability and production processes.
Rainforest Alliance
Rainforest Alliance is a certification system focused on more responsible agriculture and supply chains. For cocoa, it relates to topics such as farmers’ conditions, nature conservation, human rights, climate resilience, biodiversity and more sustainable farming.
The Rainforest Alliance green frog label indicates that the raw material is part of a system that supports more responsible production and more sustainable agricultural practices in the long term.
RSPO
RSPO, or the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, is an international initiative and certification system for more sustainable palm oil production. RSPO standards focus on environmental and social issues related to the cultivation, processing and use of palm oil throughout the supply chain.
The RSPO label helps communicate participation in a system that supports more responsible handling of palm oil and its derivatives in food ingredients and products.
Made According to the Czech Guild Standard
The Czech Guild Standard is a system of quality rules for specific types of food. It sets requirements for composition, raw materials used, production technology and selected measurable parameters of the finished product.
The label “Made According to the Czech Guild Standard” means that the specific product is made according to the rules set for that type of food. Its aim is to provide consumers with clear information about quality that goes beyond the usual legal minimum.
HALAL
HALAL certification relates to production, raw materials and procedures that comply with halal standard requirements. For food products, this includes, among other things, the origin of the raw materials used, the production process, separation of risk substances and rules for handling the product.
For customers and business partners, the HALAL label is especially important where product compliance with halal dietary rules is required, or where this certification is a condition for supplying selected foreign markets.
